How long do robot vacuums last?
Lifespan, parts to replace, warranties and daily use.
A robot vacuum typically lasts four to six years, and the battery usually fades first, after two to four years (Dyson, July 15, 2026). Replacing the battery and brushes can keep it going longer.

Before you give up on a robot, check whether the broken part is sold on its own. Consumer Reports judges robot vacuum reliability over the first four years of ownership (Aug 23, 2026).
Warranty
The Dreame D30 Ultra comes with a 3-year warranty (1 year on the battery) when bought from Dreame or its US Amazon store. The other ten robots on our site come with 1 year, by the makers’ figures.
Should it stay on the dock?
Yes, between runs. ECOVACS says its robots switch to trickle charging when full, so the battery isn’t overcharged, and Dyson also advises keeping the robot on its dock when it’s not in use.
Is it OK to run it every day?
Generally yes; robot apps let you schedule daily runs. With pets, Vacuum Wars recommends scheduling runs more often so hair doesn’t build up between them (Oct 14, 2026). More runs wear brushes and filters sooner, so plan for parts.
